Applications

Sodium Chlorite (NaClO₂) is a strong oxidant widely used in the following areas:

– Chlorine dioxide feedstock: used to generate ClO₂ on-site, widely used in textile, pulp and paper bleaching.

– Drinking water and industrial water disinfection: ClO₂ is effective in antibacterial and deodorization of municipal water supply and cooling tower systems to avoid trihalomethane pollution.

– Food processing and surface disinfection: used for washing fruits, vegetables and poultry, and also for surface disinfection of air ducts, pharmaceutical factories, etc.

– Paper and textile bleaching: ClO₂ can bleach fibers at low pH values ​​without damaging fiber strength.

– Deodorization and desulfurization: used in wastewater treatment and oil fields to suppress hydrogen sulfide odor.

– Organic synthesis reagent: used in Pinnick oxidation to convert aldehydes into carboxylic acids.

– Cooling tower/industrial circulation system sterilization: prevent biofilm and bacterial growth.

Storage & Handling

It should be stored at cool and dry place and also can not store with acid and reducible material . during transportation , it should be far away from fire and heat source and can not transport together with acid , reducible material .If catch fire can be used water ,sandy soil and knids of fire extinguisher.
**Shelf life:** 12 months under proper storage conditions.
