BLIT Chemical 2,2,4-Trimethyl-1,3-Pentanediol Monoisobutyrate (commonly known as Texanol) is a slow-evaporating, high-boiling coalescing agent and ester alcohol widely used in waterborne architectural and industrial coatings. It improves film formation, enhances flow and leveling, and reduces film defects. Its low odor and excellent compatibility make it ideal for low-VOC formulations.

It has very good hydrolysis stability and can be used with various emulsions including pure acrylic emulsions with high pH.

When added to latex paint, it is well absorbed on the latex particles to soften the particles and promote the fusion of latex particles.

It improves the rheology of the paint and the wettability of the pigment.

It improves the hardness of the paint film without cracking and improves the scrub resistance.
